FUT Hair Transplant

The best FUT hair transplant is the one designed for you

A one-day treatment designed to
maximize hair transplantation results

Just like every head of hair is different, so is every hair restoration treatment. FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) is just one way we help you get back to the hair that feels most like you. With the most extensive demonstrated success in achieving dramatic hair regrowth, FUT is considered one of the gold standard hair restoration techniques, with its own unique benefits.

High Yield

An FUT Transplant typically yields a higher number of hair grafts (groupings of 1 to 4 individual hair follicles) in a single session compared to other hair transplant methods, making it ideal for extensive hair restoration.

Shorter Treatment Time

An FUT hair transplant is more time efficient, given hair grafts are not removed individually by hand (as with an FUE hair transplant).

Natural Results

FUT allows for the transplantation of densely packed hair follicles, resulting in a full, natural-looking hairline that closely mimics your original hair pattern. It is your own hair, after all.

Effective for Advanced Hair Loss

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) is often recommended for clients with advanced hair loss, because it can provide significant coverage and density—though Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) may also be recommended for advanced hair loss depending on competing factors unique to you.

Works with All Hair Types

FUT is suitable for people with lots of hair types, including curly, straight, thick, or fine hair.

Long-Term Results

Both FUT and FUE hair transplantation give clients transformative results designed to last a lifetime.

What is an FUT hair transplant?

FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) is a minimally-invasive hair restoration treatment in which your healthiest, most resilient hair follicles are discreetly removed via a small strip of tissue at the base of your head. As with an FUE hair transplant, those hair follicles are then individually transplanted into areas where you are experiencing hair loss. Ample’s groundbreaking approach includes thoughtfully feathering hair follicles into areas where you are likely to lose hair in the future, proactively protecting and maintaining your results.

First, healthy hair grafts (groups of 1 to 4 follicles) are removed from a small strip of tissue on the back of your head.

Next, these robust hair follicles are transplanted into areas where growth is desired, such as your hairline, crown, beard, or eyebrows.

Who is the best candidate for FUT hair restoration?

While FUT is known for minimizing time in the treatment chair and maximizing follicle yield, it leaves a small linear scar at the point of extraction, making FUT ideal for people intending to keep their hair at average to longer lengths that will easily cover any scar tissue. People who have physical limitations, such as back issues, may also be a good fit for FUT, because the duration of the treatment is shorter than FUE.

Hair loss is personal–and so is hair restoration. Consulting with an experienced hair transplant surgeon is essential to determine your FUT candidacy. Our specialists work with you to find the most effective techniques for your particular hair and goals for growth.

How long is follicular unit transplantation recovery time?

For the first few days following an FUT hair transplant, our clients may experience some minor discomfort, swelling, and redness in the donor and recipient areas, which we will help you manage. Strenuous activities should be avoided during this time as you heal. By the end of the first week, you can expect to resume normal activities, with some residual redness or numbness that will gradually fade away over the next few weeks. You can expect to see new hair growth sprout within a few months, and full results may take several months to become apparent as the transplanted hair follicles have sufficient time to grow.
